CAMPUS COMMUNITY COORDINATOR, KATIE HASSLER

KATIE.jpg

Katie Hassler is excited to be in the role of the Campus Community Coordinator (CCC) for LCM! She was born and raised in Alexandria, MN and is a member of First Lutheran Church. When she was a child, she went to camp at Luther Crest Bible Camp. Now, as an adult, she has worked there on summer staff for six summers in different roles such as a camp counselor, a day camp director, and the Arts and Crafts/Camp Store Coordinator. Hassler studied Elementary Education at the U of M, Morris and graduated in May of 2018.

As the Campus Community Coordinator, she hopes to build relationships with the students on campus. This will be done through meeting students for coffee, lunches, or dinners and getting to know their interests, hobbies, and their personal faith journeys. Katie will also be planning events on campus to help strengthen the sense of community, such as worships and Bible or book studies and also events such as movie nights or craft nights. The ministry will be focused on helping students recognize their God given gifts and talents and equipping them as leaders in ministry on campus.

Hassler hopes to create a space that is comforting and welcoming to all, a space where we feel comfortable sharing about our lives, our struggles, and talking about how God walks alongside all of us and a space where we can have fun!

Feel free to send her an email! hassl023@morris.umn.edu

Joining the LuMin-Morris as office manager in early September 2018 has been a welcome event in Amanda's life, bringing her closer to her faith and in helping others embrace theirs. Johnson has lived in Graceville for 6.5 years after living around Watertown, SD her entire life. Since moving to the area she has been a stay-at-home mom that has also been substitute teaching in the Clinton-Graceville-Beardsley and Chokio-Alberta schools since January 2015.

Amanda is a mom of 4, with 2 of them being too beautiful for earth and 2 being able to bless her with their continued presence here. Her daughter is in 9th grade and her son in 2nd grade. When you can’t find Amanda at the office or at the school you will find her at home working her home businesses, running to sports and other activities to support her kids, walking/playing with their Husky, Blue, and just enjoying talking and spending time with her friends/family.

Her goal here at the Christus House is to help make it a welcoming space for everyone who enters and to continue to spread the LuMin name and the Word of Christ to all who are ready and willing to hear about it!

Feel free to send her an email! ummlcm@morris.umn.edu
